The reason I didn't automate is because of confirmation, which, well, has to be manual for obvious reasons.
I may or may not put ads in theRenamer, so automation won't fit this business model.

I've added a parameter to run theRenamer in complete automation.

When you run theRenamer using this:
theRenamer.exe -fetch
It launches theRenamer in Hidden mode, and goes through the fetch process.
Confirmation is ignored.
After that session, it quits itself.

U can make a shortcut of theRenamer, in the Target, set it to something like this:
C:\theRenamer.exe -fetch

I'm not making any background windows service to run theRenamer in automation.
Windows already has the Windows Schedule. Set it to run everyday at 4am for example.

If your Bittorrent client can execute a cmd after download complete, u can set it up too.

The next day u wake up, your files could be renamed, and moved :)
Again, confirmation is ignored, so use this feature with care.

From Version 3.8, any new updates available will not force you to update theRenamer.
In the splash screen, you will still be notified when there is a new update available. that's all.

No it doesn't.

Reason is because TV filenames has a 'standard' naming way (S01E01/1X01/001) in the file. This is how I can tell if it's a TV show file.

Movies do not have such things. Thus, I need humans to decide what files are movies.

Besides, a Bittorrent's download complete folder may not necessary just be TV and Movie files.
It could contain other things people want to download.

most of the torrent programs can move the finished torrents by there labels so you can make a movie only folder of downloaded torrents and the it will be really nice if i would be able to run theRenamer by command line. are there any other command line options except -fetch?
if lets say i want to rename a specific folder or file??

first of all, thanks for an amazing app!! im absolutly loving it with my TV shows at the moment, being able to use rss to auto download them and then have this run and organize them for me is brilliant! so thanks for that.

now as mentioned in this thread, i am spoilt by that too, and my ultimate goal is a completly automated htpc.. so it would be brilliant if you could somehow manage to work automated movie renaming/moving into the app aswell.

the previous post mentions about torrent labels etc, and i think in utorrent (especially if using rss) you can have one feed for download to one location, and another download to another location or something along those lines, might have to double check that.. but if thats the case, i think you could specify two different folders in your app, so the app doesnt have to try and do anything clever to work out whether its a movie or tv show, and it should work then i assume?

obviously need to figure out if utorrent definatly can put different things into different folders but yeah.

anyway, thanks once again for an awesome app and all the work you're putting into it!

yakovyarmo - There are no other commands besides -fetch at the moment.

I could add a new param like theRenamer.exe -fetchMovie "c:\all_movies_only"
theRenamer will grab all files from "c:\all_movies_only" and use Movie mode to rename.

You will have to make sure all files inside "c:\all_movies_only" are movies.

How's that?

Please check if your BT client can sort movies to a specific folder, otherwise I don't think this feature is useful since there's still manual work to be done.

I personally cheat a little bit.

I do the following:

1. Utorrent to grab my files.
2. SCRU with some filters so it knows to extract and copy files that I set up with filters to my TV folder and movies

2. therenamer in command line mode as a scheduled event to run at specified times
For tv
For movies

3. Then I use Media Info Plus to grab all my tv episode images in command line

I can honestly say I haven't unpacked a rar file in over a year or maybe longer. Since I've found therenamer I haven't manually renamed a tv show in 6months.

Speaking of that I'm going to have to work on a donation coming this payday. This just got easier adding movies.
