Hello,

would it be possible to have an option to set "force overwrite" in fetch mode?

i have the whole "finding, downloading, seeding, getting subtitles, renaming, moving to archive" process automated on a server.

the only files that end up in the fetch folder for the renamer are ether new episodes, or "proper/repacks" of episodes allready downloaded. but when i get a proper version of a nuked episode it just stays in the fetch folder.

so every so often i have to check the fetch folder to see if there are any remaining files and move them in the appropiate folders by hand.

would be the absolute killer feature if i could activate an overwrite option so the whole process can run witout any intervention.

I wouldn't recommend force overwrite.
Files remaining in the fetch folder are meant to be manually decided by user what to do with it.

It's not just overwriting same files in Archive folder.

For example, there could be more than 1 subtitle, or picture file in the Fetch Folder.
If it's force overwrite, it could mess up your precious files.

or a showname that was guessed wrong, and overwrite something else in your archive.

Best that if you do get "proper/repacks", delete away the old ones first.

yes, i know its risky, that why it would be great as an option to be turned on by those that know what they do.

in my case the fetch folder is a copy of a certain folder that holds the downloads from showrss, so there will just be avi files there, never any pictures or subtitles. i then use sublightcmd to download english subtitles for the files in the fetch folder and then use therenamer to rename and move the files in the archive.

i have this setup running on a windows home server and sometimes its running for a week or even longer without anyone paying any attention to the tvseries. when i want to watch an episode i fire up xbmc on an xbox in my living room that automatically scrapes the new episodes that are in the archive and adds them to the libary. usually its quite late after a buys day i have some time for tv and i am not in the mood to go looking around if there is any proper version of an episode i allready have fling around in a folder and mess around with it.

and if something should go wrong there is allways a backup that i can draw the files from that got overwritten by wrong files, (but that should normally not happen)

so just having a command line swich to force overwrite would be great, but on the other hand i am not programmer, and have no idea how much work that would involfe or it there are other ppl interestetd in such a feature.

Shouldn't be too hard to force overwrite.
I'll look into it.
Please use with caution.

Force overwrite is added in v6.3

It's not going to be documented as I do not recommended having Overwrite by default.
I'll send you a private message on how to set it.

Is it possible to get the instructions on how to use the force overwrite. I have the same issue where only proper and repacks would produce dups.

-fetch -o (and whatever else :Example: -fetch -o -ff="c:\abc" -af="d:\def")
use at your own risk :)
