I would love to see a simple option to create a movie folder in the originating directory without having to enable moving to the archive folder. This give me the opportunity to take advantage of the renaming, but also move movies into different folders based on quality and genre, instead of a singular dump folder.

Are you saying you want to rename movies, but not turn ON automove? And have the nicely named movie folders inside the original directory?
Currently, there isn't such way. Without AutoMove, the files that are renamed will maintain in the folder it originated from.

What you can do is:
in v6.5, I added some extra parameters for the shortcut Target.
Turn On AutoMove and shortcut's target set to:
"C:\Program Files\theRenamer\theRenamer.exe" -movie -af="c:\different folders based on quality and genre"

You can rename your shortcut to something like "theRenamer 1080p"
Do you know how to setup these parameters using shortcuts?

Anyway, it may or may not help you as it still doesn't create movie folders in their original directory, but it will move them to the parameter's assigned archive folder.
