Hi,

First of all, congrats on the program! I was searching allready a long time for a software that could efficiently rename movie files (in addition to series), your software is the first one that does the job. I do have some troubles with the imdb shortcut that is created. I use mediaportal - moving series plugin to play my movies. The scraper scripts from moving series plugin can retrieve the imdb id from a file inside the movie folder to perfectly match the movie search and download additional information. Only problem is that it doesn't seem to work with .lnk (microsoft shortcut files). The script can't recognize the "tt..." id from that. Apparently with .url (Internet Shortcut Files that Microsoft normally creates for a url) it has no problems. So my question is if it would be possible to create an imd.url file in stead of an imd.lnk file?

greetz

Looks like .URL is just a simple txt file.

Can u test with MediaPortal?

1) Create a new txt file.

2) Add this:
[InternetShortcut]
URL=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0452694/ (or whatever show u want to test with)

3) Rename it FROM .txt TO .url

4) Test with Mediaportal

yes that works. Before I already tried to rename the .lnk to .txt in dos. If i then remove the nulls so the link can clearly be readed in the text file (no matter what extension), it works. But for that solution I had to write a script to do that for every .lnk file in all the movie folders, so it would be easier if therenamer automatically created a file where the link is clearly visible within eg notepad. A .url file still is a link to the website too if you click on it so no functionality would be lost.
