Hello,

I'm new here and I think this software is great.
I own a popcorn hour C200 (which gave me the link to here)

Anyway: I would find useful to generate a nfo file with the imdb link.
I know there is already an option to generate an imdb shortcut, but the nfo file is used by many movie scanners.
I think it can be useful for portability and also it the long run when one movie title will match a newly made movie. If one did not include the year in the filename, the nfo file will make sure the file is always linked to the correct movie.

Thanks for considering.
Michel

I've seen many nfo formats.
If you know of any published standards please let me know.
Will see if it's easy to do then.

I can say I won't be able to scan for video or audio quality.
Currently, what u can do is just do not delete any "nfo", so it will be renamed and moved to the archive folder.
If there was a .nfo, it will be kept.

Hello,

your tool also came due to C200 forum to my attention. So far i really like it THX.

Currently only a very simple nfo format is supported.

Some Episode.mkv
Some Episode.nfo

Content of the NFO has to be either like below.

Code:
tt1245526

Code:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1245526/

Maybe you could add an Option like create "NMJ NFO v0.1".

As your fuzzy logic for the Titel is very good. Even though it might be against the original Idea of your tool, please also add an Option "create NMJ NFO v0.1" only" but not renaming the filename.

I guess you will get many new Fans of your tool.

Kind Regards
Sunny

OMG, this would be an AWESOME feature!!!!!! NMJ on the popcorn hour devices is kind of broken right now, it has problems getting the IMDB info. But if therenamer could auto-generate an nfo file for each movie with either the imdb link or the ttnumber in it (and nothing else) as sunny1081 said, it would be really great. Obviously the name of the nfo file has to match the name of the movie file. You're already able to create a shortcut to the imdb page, you just need to put that into an nfo file for each movie.

Great feature, thanks a lot.

As you can now create a nfo. Could you store the original filename in it?
That would be very useful when looking for subtitles, as you often search by release name. Right now i lose that name when using therenamer and so it gets difficult to search for subtitles.

Thanks

In Global Settings, there's the Create Log.
This adds a log file of all the original filenames and the the new filenames.
It's meant to refer what the original filename was, to get subtitles for example.

The log appends all new files that were move to that folder.
So 1 file containing all the original filenames.

What if the URL that is now in the .nfo is moved to this log?
Will your media center app still be able to find it?
It's just looking for a imdb url in any text file? or must be a .nfo?

Actually the log file is no good for me. After therenamer pass my files can be used on multiple computers that have no access to therenamer file. In fact i want my file to be "movable" (nfo, folder.jpg, fanart.jpg ...). So i would prefer to have one "log/nfo" per movie.

But that s my view, i would understand if you wouldnt want that.
