Thanks for this wonderfull software.

I like to keep the signatures when i rename tv shows, it allow me to easily find matching subtitles.

However the signatures are always between ( ). I would like to be able to set in the settings those characters. (in my case nothing).

An other problem is when the original filename already contains the episode title ex: Caprica.1x17.Here.Be.Dragons.720p.WEB-DL.DD5.1.AAC2.0.H264-GRIFFIN.mkv

When i rename it i have the title both in episode title and the signature. For my example it give

Caprica.S1E17.Here Be Dragons(Here.Be.Dragons.720p.WEB-DL.DD5.1.AAC2.0.H264-GRIFFIN).mkv

It would be nice to detect and remove the title form the signature.

Yeah, theRenamer just puts whatever is from the original filename behind.
Won't be able to cleanly filter out words that are not necessary.

I'll put this as low priority until i have a better idea.

Unnecessary words are both in signature and episode title/ show name.

So if a word is in the "shownameS1E03episodetitle" then it should be removed form the signature. You just have to also remove the words separators witch usually are space . or _

Ok. Won't be 100% accurate, but should match most of the time.
Won't be an option, just take it as an improvement.

Hi, congrats for the great program

in addition to remove duplicate name, it would be good if it could strip common word like xvid, aac etc so it can keep short as possibile (i don't need that to be perfect, just shorter) with an updatable list of word to strip from signature

also, I'd like to ask if it's possibile for the renamer to search particualr string in the signature and then add a particular one in the name... i'd like the program to add a 720p/1080p if the movie is hd, and add the language of movie if it's different from english (search for ITA or italian, in my case, if found add Italian to the name, same with 720p/1080p, if 720p is found in name, add that where I want)

what I'd like to have is "Movie Name (year) 720p Italian shortsignature.ext" for an italian hd movie and ""Movie Name (year) shortsignature.ext" for a sd movie in english

In v7.48.
I match the title that theRenamer retrieved with the original filename.
Any duplicates are removed. Right now, it's case sensitive matching.

When i use a word separator different as the one in the original filename it is not removed

eg: original filename "The Simpsons.22x09.Donnie Fatso (720p.HDTV.X264-DIMENSION)"

and the renamed filename: "The.Simpsons.22x09.Donnie.Fatso.(Donnie Fatso (720p.HDTV.X264-DIMENSION))"

I use "." as word separator.

An option to set the characters before and after the signature would be nice (currently it is ( and ) not customizable)
