Hi

I've been using the renamer to sort out my TV shows and its been doing an awesome job. I've just started using it to sort out my movie collection. A feature I would love is to include the IMDB movie rating (x/10) in the Folder or the move filename. Possible?

It's not that hard to put in, but just find too many settings already.
And ratings may change over time.

Unless there's enough people who request it.

I will second this request. :)

It would give me (and all of my friends who have my movies folder mapped as a network drive) great pleasure since it would help them choose movies to watch more easily, since my collection counts more than 1260 titles, dating back few decades.

As for the ratings, even though they change over time, I believe they don't change by much. :)

I'm thinking the end result could look something like this:

Movie Name, The (Year) [IMDB rating]

For all those interested, I've set up online POLL at http://bit.ly/theRENAMErPOLL

Thanks in advance!

With kind regards,

sKetch ;)

Adding IMDb rating.
Will be an option like MPAA.
(Requires Year to be ON. Similar to MPAA)

Will look something like this:
Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (2009 5.9)
Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (2009 PG-13 5.9)

Too bad I can't show 5.9/10.
'/' is not allowed in filenames.

Please wait for build 7.5

Thoughts? (Not going to make an option).

Hope I'm not too late with this request,
but I kind of forgot to check in to forum,
being busy with college, part-time job, etc..

I love you've finally implemented IMDB rating
to folder/file name, but..

I'd really appreciate it if we were able to set
a custom syntax of how IMDB rating was embedded
into folder/file name.

I'd like mine folder/file names to look something like this:

— Movie Name, The (Year) [IMDB].extension
— Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (2009) [5.9]

Folder/file names look more clear to me that way.

Thanks in advance,
I appreciate your hard work.

It's hard to make an app that suits everyone :(
Only way I see is to allow customization.
Bad side of it is the app looking complicated to use. (I feel it already looks complicated)

Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (2009) [5.9]
Now it's only showing Year and IMDb Rating.

There's still MPAA Rating, CD123 and Keep Original Filenames that could add to the naming format.
In the end, opening up all customization would just become less friendly to user.

Oh god, why do I feel like Apple.

I feel for you Alfred, I really do.

Couldn't agree with you more.
Trying to accommodate everyone is a fool's errand (speaking from experience). :)

My experience has taught me to try and keep things as simple as possible, yet leave (some) room for individual's custom needs.

Which brings me to my next suggestion/comment on your statement:

How about this? (depends on how easy/hard it is to implement)

Leave the App in it's basic design with dead simple (default) settings for unexperienced/n00b users.

And then.. Wait for it.. :)

Put a "CheckMark" in some corner of the App with text saying something like. "Allow Customization" or "Allow Further Customization"
Which would grant us, "Power Users" with all sorts of customization settings, e.g.. :
-> Allowing us to make custom string for IMDB implementation in Folder/file name, mine would be: Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (2009) [IMDB 5.9] - People still ask me what is "5.9" next to year in brackets.. :)
-> Keep Original Filename ["R5" ".TS" "DVDScr" "CAM" "PPVRip" "1080p" "720p"] - Personally, I'd like this not to end up in brackets, but to get shifted to the back, making the end result something like: Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (2009).[IMDB 5.9].1080p.mkv
-> etc, etc..

IMDB movie Rating is the best way when it is on good formating.
