| Awesome Simple Best TV Show Renamer .....with Episode Titles! Now Renames Movies too! |
Five websites are available for you to check for episode titles. IMDB, TV.com, theTVDB and EPGUIDES.com. A database is your personal file for storing shows and their respective IDcode. The IDcode is the ID code number for a particular show in IMDB.com and theTVDB.com. For TV.com and EPGUIDES.com, it's a section of the URL page. When you drag shows to theRenamer, it first checks your database for the ShowName/IDcode. IF the show is not listed in your database, it will try to google for it. Once a successful file is renamed, theRenamer automatically adds the ShowName/IDcode to your database. There is NO NEED to add the ShowName/IDcode for every show. theRenamer does a great job in finding your show automatically, even with spelling errors in your file's ShowName. However, there might be some cases whereby it gets the wrong episode titles. 1) Shows that can be called in different ways. A show like CSI, has many spin-offs, and CSI itself can be named by "Crime Scene Investigation" CSI, CSI Las Vegas, CSI LasVegas CSI NY, CSI New York CSI Miami 2) Show that is a remake and have the same show name. Bionic Woman (1970s / 2007) Battlestar Galactica (1970s / 2003) Knight Rider (1980s / 2008) 3) US and UK versions. "The Office" has US and UK versions. Both shows have the same show name, but totally different episode titles. These are some rare cases theRenamer might not be able to get the correct episode title. Whatever reason it may be, all you need to do is add in the showname and IDcode manually in the database. How to find the IDcode? Example, the file you wish to rename is: CSI New Yorky.S1E01.whatever junk text behind.avi IMDB.com: First, go to IMDB.com and look for the correct show page.
